Construction Progress, Newcastle

Progress, recorded on schedule.

Scheduled drone flights from fixed positions, producing a dated series of stills and video that follows a site from first cut to handover.

Building site with a tower crane, slab and formwork from the air

Overview

The same positions, every visit.

Factum Aerial flies construction sites on a set schedule: weekly, fortnightly, monthly or at agreed milestones. Each flight repeats the same positions, altitudes and framing as the last, so every image in the series lines up with the one before it. The result is a consistent, dated record of the site through to practical completion.

The series is built for builders, developers, project managers and lenders who need to see the state of a site on a given date. It supports progress claims, reporting to boards and financiers, and the project file that remains after handover. Each set is delivered with the date, time and capture position recorded.

Site Monitoring

Where progress monitoring is used.

Progress reporting

A dated set of images for monthly reports, board papers and lender updates. The same views at each interval show what has changed and what has not.

Site logistics and laydown

An overhead record of site access, laydown areas, crane positions and boundaries on the date of each flight.

Earthworks

Cut, fill and stockpile areas recorded from above as the ground changes. An orthomosaic can be added to any flight for visual measurement of area and extent.

Claims and variations

A dated image set that records the state of works at the time of a progress claim or a variation.

Marketing a development

Aerial stills and short video of a development as it rises, for sales material, project updates and the developer's own channels.

Handover record

A final set of the completed site, matched to the earlier positions, closing the series.

Photo Documentation

What the photo documentation includes.

Image and video quality, resolution, formats and outputs are discussed and agreed for each job.

  • Dated image sets: edited high-resolution stills from each flight, JPEG with RAW on request.
  • Fixed-position comparisons: the same frames placed side by side across the series.
  • Short progress video: edited clips from each visit, with a cut-down series video on request.
  • Orthomosaic on request: a stitched overhead map of the site for planning and visual measurement.
  • Cloud delivery: each set uploaded to a shared folder, organised by date, with raw footage on request.

Process

How a series runs.

01

Scope

A short conversation covers the site, the program, the interval between flights and who receives each set. Every job is scoped and quoted on that basis. We respond to every enquiry within one business day.

02

Plan

We set the capture positions, altitudes and framing for the series, and confirm airspace and site access before the first flight.

03

Fly

Each visit repeats the planned positions at the agreed interval, coordinated with the site supervisor on the day.

04

Deliver

Each set is edited, dated and uploaded to the shared folder. Stills are typically delivered within two business days; video within five.

Limits

What the record is, and is not.

Flights are planned around the site, the airspace and the weather. A visit may be moved when wind or rain would make the planned capture unreliable. The series is a visual record of the site on each date. It does not replace a survey, an engineering inspection or the site diary, and an orthomosaic is for planning, monitoring and visual measurement, not a cadastral or registered survey.

Common questions

Construction Progress & Site Documentation, answered.

How often are progress flights made?
The interval is set at the start of the series and matched to the program. Weekly, fortnightly, monthly and milestone-based intervals are all available. The interval can be changed as the project moves through its stages.
Do flights interrupt work on site?
Flights are coordinated with the site supervisor and timed to suit the day's activity. Each visit is kept short.
Can a series start on a project already under way?
Yes. The capture positions are set at the first flight and repeated from there. The record then runs from that date through to completion.
How is a progress series priced?
Every job is scoped and quoted after a short conversation. The quote reflects the size of the site, the interval between flights and the deliverables for each set. There are no fixed packages.
