Overview

A clear record, without the climb.

Factum Aerial captures visual inspection imagery of roofs, gutters, facades, solar arrays, sheds, towers and other hard-to-reach assets. No scaffolding, no ladders and no one working at height. The whole roof is covered in a single visit, including the sections that are awkward or unsafe to reach on foot.

The result is a record for the owner, strata committee, assessor, engineer or trade. Lifted sheets, cracked tiles, blocked gutters, corroded fixings and damaged panels are shown in sharp detail, organised section by section so the condition of the asset can be reviewed from a desk.

Uses

Where it is used.

Roof condition

Tile, metal and membrane roofs, ridge capping, flashings, skylights and penetrations, recorded in full before a repair, a sale or a maintenance program.

Gutters and drainage

Box gutters, valleys, overflows and downpipe heads, with close-up detail of blockages, rust and ponding.

Solar arrays

Panel surfaces, mounting rails and cable runs, with close-up detail of cracked glass, debris, soiling and lifted panels.

Facades and building envelopes

Multi-storey facades, cladding, parapets and render, for strata committees, building managers and remedial trades.

Sheds, towers and structures

Industrial roofs, silos, light towers, tanks and farm structures that are slow or difficult to access on foot.

Storm and hail follow-up

A prompt visual record of damage after a weather event, ready to pass to an assessor or trade.

Deliverables

What is delivered.

Image and video quality, resolution, formats and outputs are discussed and agreed for each job.

  • High-resolution image sets of the whole roof or asset, shot in a set sequence so every section is covered
  • Annotated image sets: images marked up to show what is visible at each section
  • Close-up detail of individual defects, fixings, joins and penetrations
  • A video walk-around of the asset, for context and orientation
  • Before and after sets, shot from matching positions, for repairs and maintenance programs
  • Edited JPEGs supplied by download link, with RAW files available on request

Process

How a job runs.

01

Scope

A short conversation about the asset, what the record is for and who will be reading it. We confirm access, timing and the quote. We respond to every enquiry within one business day.

02

Plan

Each flight is planned around the airspace, the weather and the site itself: neighbours, access, sun angle and the sections that matter most.

03

Fly

The capture is done in a single visit. We photograph the asset in a set pattern, section by section, then return for close-up detail of anything that stands out.

04

Deliver

Images are edited, sorted and annotated, then supplied by download link. Stills are typically delivered within two business days; video within five. The annotated set follows within the timeframe set in the quote.

Limits

A record, not an assessment.

Our inspection imagery is a visual record for the owner, assessor, engineer or trade; it does not replace a professional inspection or engineering assessment.

Common questions

Roof & Asset Inspections, answered.

Does this replace a roof inspection by a roofer or building inspector?
No. The images are a visual record of what can be seen from the air. A roofer, building inspector or engineer can use them as part of their own assessment.
How long does delivery take?
Stills are typically delivered within two business days; video within five. Annotated inspection sets are given their own timeframe in the quote, as the annotation depends on the size of the asset. Files are supplied by download link, with RAW files available on request.
Which areas do you cover?
Based in Newcastle. Servicing Lake Macquarie, Maitland and the Hunter, Port Stephens, Sydney and regional NSW by arrangement. Each job is scoped and quoted after a short conversation.
How much does a drone roof inspection cost?
Every inspection is quoted. The cost depends on the size and height of the roof, how many structures are on the site, how much detail the image set needs and whether a video walk-around is included. Repeat inspections of the same asset cost less to plan because the positions are already set.
