Compliance & Prequalification
Who flies the drone, under what authority, and where the data goes.
Procurement teams, shutdown planners and loss adjusters need those three answers before a job is approved. This page sets them out. Licence copies, our operating status and a data-handling statement are supplied on request as a single drone contractor prequalification pack.
Licences
Licences held by the principal and by Factum Pty Ltd.
Factum Aerial is the aerial arm of the Factum group and trades under Factum Pty Ltd. The aviation licences and the investigator licence are held by the principal. The Master Security Licence is held by Factum Pty Ltd. Copies of each are provided on request.
- CASA Remote Pilot Licence (RePL), multi-rotor to 25 kg, held by the principal
- Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC), held by the principal
- NSW Class 2E investigator licence, held by the principal
- NSW Master Security Licence, held by Factum Pty Ltd
Operating Status
Excluded category today, ReOC application in progress.
Factum Aerial currently operates a sub-2 kg aircraft under CASA's excluded category. Every flight is planned around the site, the airspace and the weather, and the task risk assessment and flight plan for the job are kept on file with the capture log.
An application for a Remotely Piloted Aircraft Operator's Certificate (ReOC) is in progress through Aviassist, Newcastle. The application status is available on request and the certificate number will be published on this page once issued. Capability expands with client demand.
Data Handling
Your site imagery stays under Factum control.
Site imagery is commercially sensitive, and in a claim or a dispute it is evidence. From capture to delivery, the data stays on equipment and storage that Factum controls. A written data-handling and chain-of-custody statement is part of the prequalification pack, and the same method is recorded in the evidence annex of every report.
- Factum-controlled processing of all imagery, from capture through to the finished report
- DJI Local Data Mode active on the controller for every flight
- Encrypted storage for originals, working files and delivered reports
- Documented chain of custody: originals hashed on ingest, a capture log of time, position and operator, and a custody statement in every report
Equipment
Current aircraft, and what is planned.
The current aircraft is the DJI Mavic 4 Pro, a sub-2 kg multi-rotor. Its visual sensor captures the imagery behind every current report: condition inspection, evidence for claims and disputes, and engineering survey and mapping to a stated ground sample distance.
The DJI Matrice 400, with LiDAR, RTK positioning and a radiometric thermal sensor, is the planned enterprise platform. None of these is a current capability. Each is added as client demand for point clouds, tighter positional accuracy and thermal inspection is confirmed, and this page will state when it is in service.

Prequalification
What we provide before mobilisation.
Contractor management portals and procurement teams ask for a consistent set of documents, and we keep them current. We respond to every request for the pack within one business day, and any item can be reissued when a portal asks for a renewal.
Contractor portal registration and site-specific inductions are completed as part of mobilisation. The task risk assessment and flight plan are prepared for the site once the scope is agreed, before the first flight, and provided on request.
- Copies of the CASA RePL, AROC, NSW Class 2E investigator licence and NSW Master Security Licence
- ReOC application status
- Data-handling and chain-of-custody statement
- Task risk assessment and flight plan prepared for the site
