Cost and Quoting

What sets the quote.

Factum Aerial quotes every job rather than publishing a price list, because two jobs that sound the same can take very different amounts of flying, editing and planning. These are the things that move the figure.

The site and how it is reached.

A single house, a stretch of coastline and a working construction site each take a different amount of time to fly. Size matters, but so does access: where the aircraft can be launched, how close to the subject the pilot can stand, whether the site is fenced, and whether a visit needs an induction or an escort.

Sites with neighbours close by, busy roads or public space nearby take more planning, because the flight has to be arranged so that people are kept clear.

Flight positions and passes.

A set of stills from four positions is a shorter job than a full orbit, a mapping grid or an inspection of every elevation. The quote counts the positions, the passes and the heights the brief needs, and the time to set them up so the same shots can be repeated later.

One visit or a series.

Construction progress and asset monitoring are usually a series. The first visit carries the planning; later visits reuse the positions and cost less each time. Where a series is agreed up front, the quote covers the whole programme.

What is delivered, and how much editing.

Edited stills, a cut video, an orthomosaic map, a 3D model and an annotated inspection set each take different processing and editing time. Raw files add little; a graded video edit or a measured map adds more. Image and video quality, resolution and formats are agreed at the quote stage so the editing time is known before the flight.

Travel and approvals.

Jobs in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and the Hunter carry little travel. Port Stephens, Sydney and regional NSW are quoted with travel included. Where a site or an event needs landowner, council or venue permission, the time to arrange it is part of the quote.

Weather.

Weather does not change the price, but it can change the date. The forecast is checked the day before and again on the morning, and a flight that cannot be flown safely is rescheduled rather than charged.

How the quote is put together.

A short conversation settles the site, the purpose, the timing and the files. The written quote sets out what will be flown, what will be delivered and when. There are no packages and no set prices, and the figure in the quote is the figure you pay.
